ERIK STEIMLE
Field Biologist & Technical Writer
As both a field biologist and writer, Erik conducts wetland determinations and delineations, vegetation and fisheries surveys, threatened and endangered species surveys, and aids senior staff with the completion of written and oral presentations. As project coordinator for ERI's NEPA assessments, he writes biological evaluations, environmental assessments, analyzes data, and presents project results at both agency and public meetings.
Erik is a cum laude graduate of Southern Oregon University with a BS in Environmental Biology and a background that includes both vegetation and fisheries research, monitoring, and impact assessments. He became part of ERI's staff in 2001 after working for the University of Washington's Fisheries Research Institute in Aleknagik, Alaska. Erik enjoys backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and mountaineering.
